I didn’t know ceramics could encapsulate such a significant role in my life when I began my initial studies. It always amazed me to create something with a pen and paper and being able to see the final product in reality. After I double majored in industrial design I decided to bring everything together and created a world to myself in which I possessed the ability to design and create forms out of scratch. That’s the idea behind Ilaerg Studio.
Ilaerg is an Istanbul based ceramic studio that works to combine industrial techniques with traditional methods and targets timeless but unexpected forms.
Beyond its function, “Kai” adds a designer touch to the place with its simple form. The piece which is polished with burnishing method, has traditional traces behind its modern shape.
Produced by slip casting. Hand polished.
